About

I am presently completing on a manuscript based on my dissertation, which examines the discourses around British Asian musicians and British national identity between the mid-1990s and early 2000s and have published previously on the circulation of Hindi film music, particularly in diasporic contexts, and the dancer Uday Shankar's reception. I am also interested in contemporary South Asian film and visual culture.

At Colorado College, I teach courses in ethnomusicology, popular music, and music history. I also serve as a faculty member and advisor in the Asian Studies and Race and Ethnic Studies Interdisciplinary Programs.
