About
Ryan Raul Bañagale [Ban-yah-gahl-ee] is a Post-doctoral Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at Colorado College, where he teaches courses in jazz, musical theatre, and media studies. He received his Ph.D. in musicology from Harvard University with the support of the American Musicological Society’s AMS-50 Fellowship. His research examines the intersections of classical and popular music in America and the historical narratives that emerge from such points of collision. He authored several entries for the second edition of the _Grove Dictionary of American Music_ and his scholarly articles appear in the _Journal of the Society for American Music_, _Jazz Perspectives_ (forthcoming), and _Musicological Explorations_. He is currently at work on a book titled _Arranging Gershwin_.
